1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Rulio application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Rulio ("we", "our", or "us") governing your use of the App.
2. Description of Service
Rulio is an augmented reality (AR) measurement application that allows users to:
- Measure distances, areas, and dimensions using the device camera and AR technology
- Use a digital spirit level tool powered by device sensors
- Save, organize, and export measurement history
- Generate measurement reports in PDF format
- Share measurements with others
⚠️ Accuracy Disclaimer: Rulio provides approximate measurements using AR technology and device sensors. Measurements should be considered estimates and must not be used as a substitute for professional measurement tools in applications where precision is critical, including but not limited to construction, engineering, medical, or legal purposes.
3. User Accounts
You may use certain features of the App without creating an account. To access premium features, measurement sync, and personalized settings, you will need to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
4. Subscriptions and Purchases
4.1 Free and Premium Tiers
Rulio offers both free and premium (paid) tiers. The free tier includes advertisements and limited daily measurements. Premium features are accessible through in-app purchases.
4.2 Subscription Plans
- Yearly Subscription: Auto-renewing annual subscription providing full access to all premium features
- Lifetime Purchase: One-time purchase providing permanent access to all premium features
4.3 Payment and Billing
- All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Prices are displayed in your local currency and may include applicable taxes
- Yearly subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your device's App Store or Google Play settings
4.4 Refunds
Refund requests are handled by the respective app store (Apple or Google) in accordance with their refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.
💡 Free Trial: If a free trial is offered, it will convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless canceled beforehand.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App
- Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
- Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our services
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the App
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its related systems
6. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, content, code, graphics, and trademarks, is owned by Rulio and is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Your measurement data and content remain your property. By using the App, you do not transfer ownership of any content you create.
7. Camera and Sensor Permissions
The App requires access to your device's camera and motion sensors to provide AR measurement functionality. By granting these permissions:
- Camera access is used exclusively for real-time AR measurement and is not used for recording, storing, or transmitting images or video
- Sensor data (accelerometer, gyroscope) is used only for the spirit level feature and measurement calibration
- You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings, though this will limit the App's functionality
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Measurements will be accurate, reliable, or precise
- The App will meet your specific requirements
- Any defects in the App will be corrected
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL RULIO, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits, data, or use
- Property damage resulting from reliance on measurements provided by the App
- Personal injury or death
- Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the App
Our total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rulio and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
11. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services including Google Firebase, Google AdMob, RevenueCat, and ARCore/ARKit. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party services.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination:
- Your license to use the App is immediately revoked
- You must cease all use of the App
- Locally stored data on your device remains accessible to you
- Active subscriptions may be canceled in accordance with the app store's policies
13. Modifications to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time by posting updated Terms within the App. Material changes will be communicated through in-app notifications. Your continued use of the App after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through the competent courts in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
15. Apple-Specific Terms
If you are using the App on an Apple device, the following additional terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and Rulio, not Apple Inc. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content
- Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the App
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). Apple has no other warranty obligation
- Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the App or your use of it, including but not limited to product liability claims, consumer protection claims, and intellectual property infringement claims
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them directly
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
